Chip Coffey, Chris Fleming and Edy Nathan were phenomenal on Season 3 of Psychic Kids. It was a great season but due to time slots, they were up against stiff competition. To solidify Psychic Kids’ success, A&E needs to hear from you, the people.

Chip, Chris and Edy clearly helped the “Psychic Kids,” their families and countless others who may have identified with their guests. This show is a true service to all of those involved, including the families of the missing persons helped by the kids. It is also well-produced and one of A&E’s best shows.

This fall, Sundays on A&E are going to give fright fans a real-life chill. A&E returns two hit original paranormal series with the fifth season of “Paranormal State,” and the third season of “Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal,” premiering Sunday, October 17th at 9PM and 10PM ET/PT respectively.

In “Paranormal State,” A&E continues to chronicle the case files of the Paranormal Research Society (PRS), a renowned group of investigators led by Ryan Buell, the director/founder of PRS, who delve into other worlds to solve the most severe client cases ranging from the bizarre to the demonic.

The team uses a cache of resources to help families in trouble, including Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) recordings, video documentation, cutting-edge technologies, old-fashioned research and the help from outside experts such as renowned psychics and demonologists.

“Paranormal State” kicks off with two episodes. First is “The Death Room” – where PRS arrives in Ryan’s hometown to help the new owner of an old southern plantation unearth its dark history. A painful family secret reveals a tale of greed and neglect, and the team must help free its unwilling victim from her spiritual prison.

Next up is “They Only Come Out At Night”- Once night falls in a quaint New England Town, a police officer’s family is terrorized by demons. PRS arrives just in time with the family ready to vacate their family home, rather than suffer the advances of these spirit creatures. They have been scratched, pulled, pinched and pushed to the brink. Through investigation and research PRS must come up with a solution to this family’s plight and try to save their lovely home.

In “Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal,” A&E profiles children who live with an incredible secret: they have psychic abilities. Feeling scared and isolated, these kids have nowhere to turn…until now. Help is on the way in the form of Psychic/Mediums Chip Coffey, Chris Fleming and Kim Russo — who themselves grew up with these senses — and licensed psychotherapist Edy Nathan, who has more than 20 years experience. These experts work to uncover the truths of these children, and direct the kids to better manage their abilities.

In the premiere one-hour episode, “Banishing Evil,” 12-year-old Nick is tormented by an evil spirit named Mr. Rosenberg. Since Rosenberg entered his life, Nick has been plagued by violent nightmares and physical attacks. He lives in constant fear and his only desire is to be a “normal kid.”

Psychic/Medium Chip Coffey and therapist Edy Nathan introduce Nick to Anissa, an 11-year-old girl who is so frightened by the ghosts and spirits that surround her that she hasn’t been able to sleep alone for as long as she can remember. Nick and Anissa work to develop the strength and confidence to keep evil entities at bay, and ultimately they try to banish Mr. Rosenberg.

As a child growing up I was often fearful of the dark for what lurked around the corners of  the darkest rooms and the closed closets. It was on two certain occasions the closet door swung open and a black thick massive cloud, similar to a tornado rushed towards me.

I have often talked about this experience in my lectures across the country and found many children and adults who have seen and had similar experiences. The question has always remained, who or what is in that black mass? Where does it come from and where does it go? My fear as a child was always, what happened if it grabbed me and pulled me into its own darkness? What would become of me? This fear was all to real, and no dream or nightmare could compare to the reality of what I was witnessing. My sheer terror and screams running away from it was witnessed by a maid/babysitter we had while my parents where out of town working. She quit after this experience.

While I believe I have seen what is in those clouds, and have assumed it is a vehicle or higher form for which they travel and move in and out of their dimension. I cannot be 100% sure. What I am sure is that in September of 2009 a creature, that I had not seen since I was 5-9 years old manifested for the first time since and made me realize that in 35 years not only has my size changed but my fears. What I saw last year was not a corner of the eye sighting,  it was a full on reminder. That they are still around, watching, waiting. At first I was in shock, but then it quickly turned to anger as I was reminded of the fear I felt as a child and now as an adult, one not afraid to confront that which I have been facing for the past 20 years had just invaded not only my home, but my consciousness…no longer as a child…as an adult who will no longer run. I looked away and then looked up again.

It was still there, slowly moving back into the darkness of the closet and slowly becoming transparent as if it was going back into its own dimension. I would not say it was becoming invisible, it was still there to a degree but moving away from the illumination from the room and backwards into the darkness was taking it somewhere else as well as passing out of my visual spectrum. A certain frequency of light and just the right OPEN consciousness allowed it to be seen. I turned away at first in shock and catapulted into past memories, and then I turned and looked again and watched it creep back into the shadows of the corner of the closet. As I watched in awe, its eyes gleamed back into the light, and then it retreated back into the darkness of the shadows. I jumped up and ran to the door…angry. Facing what was now an empty closet. I cursed inside my head and then spoke words out loud. “How dare YOU!” I yelled how I was no longer afraid and to show itself once more. Nothing occurred. I knew it was gone, as if it was toying with me. What was the purpose..what was the message? I pondered on this for days and weeks. I have a good idea, not one I am about to share.

Two weeks ago something happened again, flying me back to the events that occurred in my home on Park Lane from 1972-1978. The hauntings and the evil that resided in that house. I felt it again, but this time in my current home. It woke me to sheer pain in my left eye as it was ripped open again from a corneal tear and abrassion. I cursed and screamed around the room, not only in pain but the fact that the one thing I feared and was terrorized most from my childhood home had somehow and someway found me. It always was, the short creatures and the black cloud showing itself first, and then the larger darker more powerful being coming next. I once again raced around the house cursing and telling it to leave. How dare it come into my home. To show itself, if it dare. I yelled that it was weak to attack me in my sleep, when I was defenseless. NOW that I was wide awake, where was it?

I don’t have all the answers to what occurred in Sept and a few weeks ago, but what I do know is the feeling, what I saw I have not felt in over 35 years. For the first time since I felt and saw what plagued me for years growing up as a child and I honestly believed it was over with. Now I am certain it is not.

There was a part of me relieved to know that what happened to me as a child did in fact happen, but now as an adult seeing it again quickly makes me realize that most people would never believe it, unless they saw it for themselves. How does one talk about something like this? What happens next?

A couple weeks ago when Psychic Kids aired I received a variety of wonderful emails from kids, mothers and families regarding their abilities and how to use them.

Thank you all for writing and asking!

Here are some of those questions and answers for anyone that is searching themselves. Please keep in mind the responses are based not only on my own personal experiences but also my beliefs and feelings that have been instilled upon me from first hand encounters and solutions I have found valuable in my own spirit quest. Yours may differ.

Q: Have you ever seen lights or what looks like star shows at night in the house or in your room while you were a kid?

As a child I saw a couple of things that were like lights. I saw a ball of light once shoot down the hall and have a contrail to it. Very weird and odd. On another occasion, I saw a male ghost appear in my room while my friend Bud was sleeping in a sleeping bag about 10 feet away from my bed. This male ghost was glowing with an internal glow to it that did NOT light up the room or illuminate the walls. It seemed to be self contained. The spirit seemed lost or confused, and I was scared, so I called out for Bud (he didn’t answer) and after that didn’t work I yelled out for my dad who came down the hall and turned on the hallway light. As soon as the light went out this ghost imploded into a ball and then vanished! As if it went into a black hole or something. Very odd.

It wasn’t until many years later while I was investigating Thunderbird Lodge that I saw a light, which at first I thought was a lightening bug. However, in dead winter that was impossible. It lit up when I asked, “where did this guy die?” I followed the path to where this light appeared and picked some horrible place memory of a tragedy. I was told that just below where I saw the light (it was hovering about 8 feet above the ground) was where the janitor died after being attacked and killed by a bear. This light led me right to it!

On another occasion at a haunted lodge. I saw a multitude of sparkly lights appear inside floating above the bridge. Which I then termed “Sprites” short for Spirit Lights,” I felt these were spirit guides and conscious soul energy that were of a higher and more vibrant frequency. Closer to the light and nicer, more positive spirits. Not angels per see, but spirits sent to watch over or guide in our quest and investigation. They sparkled when I asked them to show themselves again.

During a personal channel session, I caught two of them on video while I was under deep trance. One of them appeared when it was stated a spirit guide would be appearing to me.

So what does this mean? I believe these lights, when they are bright and sparkly, can signify positive light (beings) spirits. Letting one know they are there for a short period to guide, protect, acknowledge or assist.

Q: I have had dreams that come true and see things that happen to people before it happens. The fear of what COULD happen next and no one believing me “taught” me to suppress a lot of my ability. How does one re-learn to use these gifts?

You already have them, you already learned them. You have just chosen to abandon them out of… fear. Let go of your fear, embrace the truth, embrace the unknown and ask the universe to show you what it must to help others and help YOU help others. There can be no fear, when what you do, you do out of love and assistance. To truly see ones life, death and success mean you are evolved on a level that allows you to see people for who they truly are. The physical and the holographic reality we have created in this world means nothing to you. You can see who we TRULY are. Why we are here and what purpose we have? In this you can see one’s destiny at times. What you see if it be death or tragedy is not necessarily a bad thing. Our experiences here are only temporary and in that temporarily comes/brings experiences for the soul and mind. We take that with us when we physically die and our soul departs, going home to a higher self, higher spiritual realm. It becomes an addition to higher, greater awareness of the creator and who we truly are. What we observe we can use to help and guide others, warn some, counsel others and prepare many. How much can be done before an event occurs, we can use to prepare, help and calm those we see? Seek not to be a hero, but guide those that need one, counsel those that fear, and don’t seek approval from those who choose not to believe. You already know what they question. So why confuse both, them and you. You answer what they already fear. Do not make it your fear. There is too much of that already, as you have seen for years. Prey does not survive its fear when corned by a predator. It freezes and is devoured by the darkness. Do not let the darkness devour you. For light always survives in the dark, and you cannot fear anything, when you know even a little of where you are going.

Q: I still have FEARS. I saw things as a child and I have ignored it my whole life. Even so, I am still afraid. What do I do to overcome my fears? I still hear and see things.

Why is that a bad thing? What is it, you really fear? Is it what other people think of you? or is it that you don’t know why, or what they want from you when they linger around or appear to you (the ghosts I am talking about). Well, why not ask them? If someone takes something of yours or bumps into you, you would say something wouldn’t you? Well, ghosts (spirits) are people to. Just not physical. First you must figure out what you are really afraid of. Then understand that ghosts, spirits were once people to. They just don’t follow the same laws we do when it comes to physical rules. They have more freedom yes, but they aren’t able to interact like we can.

You must have confidence and realize you are a powerful spiritual being. You can see, hear and maybe even feel them. Few people can. So what does this mean. It means you have the opportunity to help some of them, help some of us. Understand life after death. Understand and communicate with the soul and the afterlife. So many people today need to bridge that gap. Why fear something that can help so many people. The ones you don’t want to talk to or don’t care for. Tell them to leave and if they don’t ask other spirits, good ones, to help you get rid of them or how to make them go. There is no harm in asking or communicating, but there is harm if you don’t do anything and let them control you. Only you control you. You know this. Now prove it and regain control of yourself first. Then set parameters for them. It’s your home and your life.

Q: My children manifested their abilities at a very early age. I want my kids to have normal childhoods without stifling their gifts. What can I do to make sure they stay strong in themselves without becoming isolated from their peer groups?

Support from the adult family is what is needed for all children with or without gifts. More problems, more disorders, more dysfunction is caused by neglect, isolation, regret, hatred, and fear during a child’s upbringing than any other time in their life. They are shaped by what goes in and around them at these stages. Show them in this world other that use gifts for the positive. Show them and guide them in using their gifts, not to appease others but out of love and kindness. Look at their fears and address them. Help them understand different viewpoints and what obstacles they may run into BEFORE they run into them. Discuss these things, so when and if they do happen, they will be in a better position to be wise and understand them, as well as understand people such as their peers who cannot comprehend what it is like to see, hear, feel and communicate not only with each other but with those THEY have chosen to ignore. Think of it this way. Homeless people are ignored, shunned and mistreated all the time in our society. They shouldn’t be homeless! Yet, our society allows it. So when it comes to something, they can’t see. Why would it be any different? Add the fact to it that some of us CAN see, hear and feel the invisibles of our society. The ghosts of our present and past. Why wouldn’t they be upset, scared or angry? With these abilities comes great knowledge, and even greater responsibility. Elvis was told he should go back to driving trucks. Many successful people, many heroes in our world, great leaders, were once told they were not good enough to follow their dreams. If they listened, they would not have accomplished what history has recorded for them. Do not despair about what others do not see or understand. Only You can create who you want to be, and only you can walk forward to accomplish it. Take with you what they say and prove them wrong, not to hurt them, but to teach them in the only way you can…Through implementation and progression through your work and accomplishments based on what you believe. Write your own history for their children to read and study. Today’s teachers you run into might only know the past and fear the future. You and your children are the future. Empty pages of are waiting to be named history.

Q: How did you get your training or strengthening of your gift?

This is not an easy question and may or may not apply to everyone. I was born with seeing and sensing things. I had dreams that came true. I felt people around. I sensed when they would appear, or if they were near by. During my experiences and interacting with ghosts, I learned a lot. I asked questions, I tried experiments to get them to interact and move objects or show themselves. It didn’t always work, but when it did i learned something. Dreams were very powerful for me back then. I would see them and have some conversations with them during the day or night and when I went to sleep some of them would continue the conversations or show me things. I could decipher what was premonition or prophecy and what was just fantasy. It was amazing for me during that time. As I got into high school and things continued to come true, I realized it was real, and I could use it to prepare myself.

It wasn’t until I worked with top experts in the field of parapsychology that I could label and identify some of the abilities I had. I became more familiar with place memory as apposed to think the energy and emotions were a ghost as I may have in the past. I could recognize the difference in sensations to tell me whether it was a real ghost present or just left over residuals of a ghost or traumatic event. As an adult I could observe more from a psychological and scientific eye than a child’s view of some confusion and fear. This new observation helped me realize it was real and was nothing paranormal or supernatural. It was just thought’s science has not caught up with yet nor understands, to a degree, to allow it to be natural.

Read books about the terms and what you can do to practice. The best book I read that helped me identify some of the sensations and label the abilities, was a book by Echo Bodine called “The Gift.”

There are many teachers out there, but you can only learn so much. Experience is the key to all lessons learned. Go out and experience for yourself. I did.

Q: What is place memory? Is there a way to hone this ability?

Place memory is emotions and energy that have been left behind and recorded in an inanimate object. Wood, cement, steel are great objects to hold place memory. If someone is murdered, dies or suffers huge emotional stress or trauma the release of those emotions and feelings create an energy outburst that can permeate anything that is in close proximity. The floors, walls and ceiling can house that energy, like a recording or picture, for a long period of time. Highly Sensitive individuals can pick up, feel and absorb these emotions. In an empathetic and reactive kind of way. In some cases, it can be extreme while for others it can be mild. Pictures or images can be displayed in the mind as the emotions carry the event that occurred. LIke a movie or recording, bits and fragments are felt that can affect some sensitives to such a degree that they feel they are there witnessing this past occurrence and for some empaths and sensitives they can even feel they are the person that this occurred to. Seeing and feeling what that person did before they died.

One way to hone this ability is to practice psychometry with objects and go from room to room noticing and sensing the differences in the ambiance and environment. Having other individuals go from room to room before hand releasing emotions and out bursts of energy before hand can help you identify some of these emotions when you go in. Testing each other then gathering data to see what you missed and how you can improve. Also, blindfolded tests with subjects being approached by different emotions (under silent conditions) can help identify changes in the room, hence the recognition of emotions and how they affect the surroundings are good ways to hone and practice this ability.

Q: What is Psychometry?

Psychometry, also called “token-object reading” is the art or practice or holding an object such as a watch, pen, coin, wallet, shoe, shirt, etc. and speaking out loud the images and feelings that first come to mind. There are memories and emotions recorded on the objects from the owner or people they came in contact with. The goal is to pick up on these memories and sensations and correctly identify them.

Joseph Rhodes Buchanan coined the word “psychometry” in 1842.[2] Buchanan developed the theory that all things give off an emanation.[3]
“The past is entombed in the present, the world is its own enduring monument; and that which is true of its physical is likewise, true of its mental career. The discoveries of Psychometry will enable us to explore the history of man, as those of geology enable us to explore the history of the earth. There are mental fossils for psychologists as well as mineral fossils for the geologists; and I believe that hereafter, the psychologist and the geologist will go hand in hand, the one portraying the earth, its animals and its vegetation, while the other portrays the human beings who have roamed over its surface in the shadows, and the darkness of primeval barbarism. Aye, the mental telescope is now discovered, which may pierce the depths of the past and bring us in full view of the grand and tragic passages of ancient history.”[2]”

Chris Fleming on Ghost Adventures Live with the new  SB7 Spirit Box.
