Klinge Brothers Update

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

Everyday Paranormal is the official investigative team formed in 2007 by the Klinge Brothers–stars of the television show “Ghost Lab” on the Discovery Channel and authors of the book “Chasing Ghosts Texas Style”.

Besides filming the show, lecturing across the country, and conducting private paranormal investigations, the Klinge Brothers have revamped their team in order to embark on a documentary film project unlike any other seen.

The talents of the team will further attempt to quantify the existence of the paranormal through conventional science, and in the process, help verify or disprove history.

The team consists of Brad and Barry Klinge, Steve Harris (original team member and seen on “Ghost Lab”), Johnny Houser (film maker and musician known for running the Villisca Axe Murder House in Iowa), and Kathy Cash (sensitive/intuitve and daughter of the legendary Johnny Cash).

Steve Hock decided to go into full retirement after Ghost Lab stopped filming and resigned from the group.

Katie Burr moved to New York City and is doing quite well going to art school and being a entrepreneur.

Hector Cisneros from season one had career obligations, so he subsequently left the team.

Brad and Barry Klinge are back for another chilling season of GHOST LAB.  The fall premiere episodes kicks off with a special sneak peek on October 19th at 10 PM and airs regularly on Thursdays at 10 PM beginning October 21st.

The series features “Everyday Paranormal,” an investigative team founded by the San Antonio-based brothers.  With the help of the latest technology and a decked-out travelling “ghost lab” – a mobile research and investigative hub used for research, real time analysis and two-way communication – they tackle some of America’s most haunted locations.

This season the brothers head to Gettysburg, the site of Brad’s first paranormal experience that sparked his and his brother’s interest in investigating these phenomena.

They also travel to New England where they call in a prosecutor to help uncover who may have really killed Lizzie Borden’s parents.  The team takes on the icy depths of Lake Superior, where shipwrecks may have spirits lurking in watery graves, and later in the season, Brad and Barry go guns blazing to Deadwood…where they may have to face down the ghost of Wild Bill Hickok.

Klinge Brothers Use High Tech Mobile Lab and Noted Historical Experts to Test Scientific Theories.

The Season Two Premeire Episode “Dead Will Rise Again” is at Gettysburg.

Your Cable Is Haunted

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

Spirits abound on “Ghost Hunters” (Syfy), “Paranormal State” (A&E), “Ghost Lab” (Discovery) and “Ghost
Adventures” (Travel Channel).

By Susan King

Ryan Buell Your Cable is Haunted article

Ryan Buell founded the Paranormal Research Society as a student.

Vampires may be getting all the glory these days, but when it comes to day-in, day-out spooky family entertainment, it’s hard to beat ghosts.

The popularity of ghost and paranormal stories are nothing new — from the King’s ghost in Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” to Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” to the phenomenal box office last fall for “Paranormal Activity.”

But it’s on the small screen that ghosts are most alive — a staple of the medium, so to speak. The first two hours of CBS’ Friday night lineup are devoted to “Ghost Whisperer,” now in its fifth season, and “Medium,” which joined the network last fall after five seasons on NBC. Both dramatic series revolve around women who can see dead people.

Several of the cable networks have built their lineups around ghost/paranormal reality shows. These series follow investigators going to residential homes, historical locations, abandoned hospitals, prisons and even aircraft carriers that are supposedly haunted. They claim to use scientific methods and equipment, such as digital tape recorders to capture EVPs (electronic voice phenomena), which are believed to capture the voices of spirits.

Thanks in part to the success of these shows, ghost hunting has become a big business. Several Internet sites including Amazon offer equipment for sale for the budding paranormal investigator.

DISCOVERY CHANNEL TACKLES UNEXPLAINED PHENOMENA WITH ITS ALL-NEW SERIES “GHOST LAB.” SET TO PREMIERE OCTOBER 6TH.

With the help of the latest technology, two brothers have uncovered some of the most intriguing results in supernatural research to date – including a possible recording of Civil War soldiers talking.  Meet Brad and Barry Klinge, Texas natives who in 2007 founded Everyday Paranormal, an investigation team that has explored more than 70 locations and given a new twist to paranormal research.  The Klinges and their team of investigators are featured in the all-new 13-part series GHOST LAB, to premiere Tuesday, October 6 at 10PM E/P on Discovery Channel.

The Klinge brothers tackle what are thought to be some of America’s most haunted locations with sophisticated equipment housed in a decked-out travelling “ghost lab.”  This 24-foot car hauler is capable of providing 200,000 watts of electricity to power audio, video and photo analysis stations; flat-screen televisions and an interactive touch-screen smartboard.  The lab also houses surveillance video cameras capable of shooting 300 feet away in total darkness with a 180-degree peripheral view; temperature, humidity and dew point data loggers; various digital cameras, including thermal imaging cameras; audio recorders; and more than 8,000 feet of video cable.  This on-site high-tech lab enables investigators to analyze data on the premises in real time, helping them to more narrowly focus their investigations on suspected “hot spots.”

The team also consults with some of the world’s foremost specialists in science measurements to devise and test theories during their investigations.  Is there more “ghost activity” around water?  Are spirits attached to specific items or locations?  Is there a parallel universe?

Some of the locations the Klinge brothers investigate on GHOST LAB include Tombstone, Ariz., home to some of the most violent deaths in history; Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, where Elvis got his start; and Granbury Opera House where, according to legend, John Wilkes Booth changed his name to John St. Helen and performed Shakespeare after assassinating President Lincoln.
