Ghost Hunters International – Gate to Hell

Professional Medium Lynne Olson reviews Gate to Hell episode.

Ghost Hunters International Houska Castle

Houska Castle

I hate to disappoint those who are fascinated by the “Gates To Hell” hoopla but Houska Castle simply isn’t it. Is it haunted, definitely. Are there demons? Well, I only saw one minor, common type of imp I could just as easily (and have) seen in a suburban home, let alone a Czech medieval castle. It was attracted by ancient blood and residues of terrible pain.

Is there a vortex… sort of. I asked my guides what was going on, and they told me Houska Castle sits on a snarled ley line. I honestly didn’t know what a ley line was, so I looked it up on Wikipedia and there seem to be two schools of thought. One school of thought takes me back to high school geometry where the shortest distance between two points is a line. Animals, ancient and modern humans developed paths for foraging, hunting, farming, trade… etc… The shortest path was usually taken and connected one area of activity to another.

The second school of thought is that ley lines have some sort of electrical or magnetic energy associated with them that ties into paranormal and UFO phenomenon. I am voting for the second theory with magnetic energy the likely active force involved.

On Ghost Hunters Jason and Grant are constantly reminding us that electromagnetic fields make humans feel jittery, even paranoid on a regular basis. I was told by my guides that something of the sort is part of the natural geography in the area Houska Castle resides. According to the episode walk through this particular spot has long been making people uncomfortable.

That being said, this sense of unease has lead to some brutal bloodshed, torture and occult experimentation over the centuries. The oldest impression of the site I got was before Houska Castle was built, back to ancient times. Some sort of horrific, bloody battle was fought there. Not unlike many Civil War battlefields, the ground was literally soaked with blood at the time. I saw ancient bloodshed in mass quantities adding to the magnetic ley line disruption of the site.

Fast forward to the 13th century when Europe was firmly entrenched in the rule of the Catholic Church and Houska Castle was built. Tales of demons and the intriguing concept of building a box within a box to contain evil spirits gave an explanation for the unease and the strange things that went on there. (By the way, stone walls will not keep evil nor holy energy contained.)

Dark entities are usually attracted to unsettled graves, lots of blood lost in battle or murder and the negative imprints of evil deeds that have taken place, especially if they happen to be concentrated in a particular geographic area. I cannot count how many murder victims graves my guides have resolved and sealed after the unhappy occupants have moved into the light of God. Houska Castle hasn’t been energetically cleaned out in centuries, yet all I got was some depraved monks, a few cynical Nazi ghosts and a single low level imp.

Ty McGee, the property manager and his dog have run into some honest to goodness ghosts. Plenty of people died horrible deaths at the castle. Ty told GHI about the bodies of three Nazi soldiers found on the site, believed to have been executed by their own men. I think the ghosts of those soldiers are still there.

As marvelously melodramatic as building a chapel on top of the reputedly most evil spot of the site all I felt was magnified fear of all the people who honestly believed the “gates of hell” stories over the millenniums. The noise  the GHI investigators heard in the chapel was the click and scrape of Nazi guards still walking their routes in the balcony that rings the upper wall of the chapel. As soon as I heard the sound when the GHI folks did I heard the word, “jackboots”. I think it was Robb who asked the ghosts if people had been sacrificed on the defunct altar in the chapel. My guides said nope, only farm animals, usually sheep or goats. It was part of the Nazi occult experiments that went on there in the 1930’s. The Nazi officers who were assigned to undertake these experiments were cynical and thought the whole idea was a bunch of bunk. The commanding officer of the castle seemed to believe in the potential of researching the dark aspects of the occult for the greater glory of the Third Reich, but his underlings were half hearted at best. My guides said the records recording what other experiments might have happened along these lines were burned before and after the Nazi’s left the castle. So I guess we are never really going to know the details. It sounds messy and a rotten way to treat a once blessed space like a chapel, but that seemed to be about it. I doubt the local farmers were happy to have their livestock appropriated.

The black figure seen and heard upstairs prior to GHI’s investigation was muttering about killing young girls. I saw two grimly dark and evil monks who were part of a small group in the middle ages who used the rumors, the seclusion and their authority to rape and murder local young girls. Two primary monks still seem to haunt the castle. One was upstairs and one was down in “Satan’s Den” or the basement/dungeon area.

The one upstairs was the one seen by other witnesses in the past muttering about young girls. It was this twisted monk who taunted Ashley, Robb and Dustin in the attic with the word “Boj” which according to Ty McGee was the Czech word for, “come on” equal to our modern US figure of speech.. “bring it on”. That would be consistent with the energy I felt in the attic. That monk was the one who messed with the camera that took around 100 pictrues by itself and wouldn’t respond to the remote. It was interesting nothing came out on those pictures but they got the taunting EVP. One unsettling image I got during this experience was the image of blood stained wooden tables. I think girls were tortured, abused and killed on those tables. Think trestle type tables. It was not an easy death and way too many died up there at the hands of between six and a dozen monks who today would be Level 3 sex offenders and should have been locked up themselves.

There was the ghost of a second deviant monk in the cellar. It was the entity that threw the rock back at Ashley and Dustin. It also was the presence that caused the cold spot when it touched Ashely’s knee on the left leg. Side note: Kudos to Ashely for not loosing it when that happened. She acted like a pro, good job!

Ghost Hunters International Satans Office

Now for “Satan’s Office” in the cellar/dungeon/prison, whatever you wanted to call the lowest level of the castle. Satan never sat in that chair. I asked Archangel Michael and he seemed to think the notion was pretty absurd. The admittedly dramatic chair was crafted for the tourists be they late middle age pilgrims or modern day thrill seekers. Look at the symbols, the trident or devil’s pitchfork depending on who you ask…. the throne like appearance, the pillars on the legs… some blacksmith, churchman or house poor property owner had an active imagination and knew how to expertly play on the fears of people. I doubt that chair is particularly old. Dungeons/basements are damp and I saw no evidence of rampant rust. I suppose the minions kept it maintained.  Tongue

Grim and horrible things did happen down there, but they were not enacted literally by demons or devils. Once again I wish I could have been on site because I got a clear picture of bolt holes in the stone wall behind “Satan’s Chair”. I believe human beings were shackled to the walls as torture/punishment and some died in those postions. The shackles have been taken out of the walls, but the holes where they were anchored remain. It was the long vanished smell of decomp from these dead and dying bodies that set Ty’s dog off as related earlier in the show. Such atrocities would most certainly leave negative imprint haunting’s in the cellar. I think it was the moans and hopeless growls of dying men Ashely and Joe heard. It doesn’t take much pain to reduce must humans to grunts, growls and moans. Ever seen a woman in childbirth? It happens a lot under extreme physical stress. Being chained to a wall until shortly before death would count as extreme physical stress by any definition.

The blond lady in white upstairs predated the Nazi’s, but not by much. I think she was the young wife of an older man who drank like a fish. I think the “white dress” Ty and others saw her walking around in was probably her nightgown. At one time nightgowns had a lot of fabric in them, partially for warmth and the reigning ideas about decency. I believe it was her who picked up the current castle owner’s drink and then slid it to the middle of the table. I saw her do it as the owner told the story to Robb. I also heard her say, “You KNOW this isn’t good for you….” That didn’t come out on EVP. I think she mistook the current owner of the castle for her much older lush of a husband she had to put up with when she was alive. Sadly I do think she died in the castle. It wasn’t the life she would have picked for herself, but I got the distinct impression her opinion didn’t count in the circumstances around her marriage.

That’s all folks. Haunted, absolutely. Vortex or gate to hell… nah.

Blessings,

Lynne

PS: I asked Archangel Michael to deal with the imp. It is gone, never to return, so don’t worry about that aspect of the episode.

  1. i think it’s a bunch of garbage. brought on by feeding off of peoples fears. why have they never captured a ghost or spirit on film? the camera man could be making all of those noises.

You write as if Arch Angel Gabriel is a casual buddy. You could do with some ettiquette if you’re thinking of aquiring any spark of credibility.

Whackjob!!!! for crying out loud you haven’t been there!!! You a poor crazy person who has nothing better to do than write this crap…!!!

My low level Imp tells me your guides are full of crap.

But seriously, how can you claim to see something on the television that wasn’t physically recorded? What appears to you on the television set is a pre-recorded image, nothing more… There is no way your going to ’see’ things that arent already imprinted on the film.

I am blessed with the ability to see auras, however, I cannot see the aura of someone on TV, because it’s not actually them… Just pictures of them. How can you claim to see an entity that wasn’t actually recorded on the film, this ‘imp’ you speak so highly of?

At least it’s a relatively short read, and I don’t feel too cheated out of my time.
