Paranormal Witness Spooks 1.63 Million

September 19th, 2011

Syfy’s new hit series Paranormal Witness significantly expanded its audience in its second week, leaping 29% among total viewers to 1.63 million.

Using a mixture of intimate first-hand testimony, actual home video and gritty realistic drama, Paranormal Witness transports viewers into a world turned upside-down by extraordinary, terrifying and sometimes life-threatening paranormal events.

The September 14 episode presented two real life paranormal tales. The first was “Haunted Highway.” Dave Stautzenbach’s 21-year-old daughter and his 3-year-old grandson mysteriously disappeared on a car journey to southern California. But then disturbing premonitions and the ghostly sighting of a naked woman drew different family members and the police to the exact same spot down a ravine at the side of Highway 50 – and the shocking fate of mother and son was revealed.

In the second story, “Kentucky UFO Chase,” two cops are drawn into a deadly game of cat and mouse when their police helicopter was chased across the night time skies of Kentucky by a glowing orange orb that fired fireballs at them.

At 9 PM, Ghost Hunters had 1.55 million total viewers, up 8% versus last week’s episode.

Syfy’s potent new paranormal programming block propelled the channel to #4 among Adults 25-54 in cable primetime.

“Ancient Aliens The Series”

September 8th, 2011

Paranormal television shows such as “Ghost Hunters” have become quite popular.  Most shows involve searching  for ghosts in modern times.  Fans of shows that deal with paranormal activity may also be interested in knowing about “Ancient Aliens The Series.”  This television series explores an entirely different perspective on ghosts or visitors; what if our world has been visited, not in modern times, but in ancient history?

“Ancient Aliens The Series”examines history, in an effort to determine just how earlier humans accomplished some of the magnificent feats that they did.  Iconic structures and locations such as the pyramids of Egypt, Stonehenge, and the Easter Island sculpture heads are looked at very specifically, and the result is often, that it seems almost impossible for ancient civilizations to have built them without some sort of advanced technology or help.

The show is not entirely archaeological in its explorations. It also delves into ancient art and literature, and even theology, at times.  For example, there are some who interpret Greek theological accounts as saying that the top of Mount Olympus, the home of the Greek gods, lifted off one day.  Is it really so outlandish to think that the Greek “gods” were some sort of alien, “supernatural” race that visited the Earth and that the gloriously described peak of Mount Olympus was their ship? To some, this theory seems entirely ridiculous.  However, regardless of whether you are open to new ideas, or searching for answers, a show like this can if nothing else, be quite entertaining and thought provoking.

If you are interested in unique shows like “Ancient Aliens The Series,” you may want to discover the benefits available through advanced television programming options such as HBO,  Direct Star TV, and now, even Netflix.   You may find yourself considering questions you never thought to ask!
