In an announcement on the show’s production company website, Yevette Fielding has announced she is leaving Most Haunted.

 

A Message From Yvette Fielding

Dear All

As you all know, Most Haunted has been not only my baby but a serious passion of mine since Karl and I came up with the idea. We sold just about everything and got a huge loan to make the pilot. We fought so hard to get it on the screens. We didn’t let the constant knock backs stop us until eventually it was taken up by Living (UK Living as it was known then) and the rest is history. A history you have helped make.

The show has won awards here in the UK, in New York and sold around the world. It has been parodied by the legendary Saturday Night Live in the USA, French and Saunders here in Bughty and even watched by Royalty. It was cited as having a pivotal role in Living winning “Broadcast Channel Of The Year” and constantly returning the channels highest ratings. It is the most successful Paranormal Show in history and something we are very proud of. No other show has been copied, parodied and plagiarized so much. If it is true that imitation is highest form of flattery, we consider ourselves very flattered.

The success of the show is purely down to a great team, the odd ghost and you, the fans who have given me so much support and encouragement over the years. It is because of you that I have managed to continue through some very hard times and difficult decisions. The highs have been truly high and the lows very trying but we made it through and came out with a show that I can stand by confidently and say I did my best.

At the start I wanted to bring Paranormal Investigations to a wider audience, making them more acceptable and with the ever growing amount of groups that have started since Most Haunted began, I feel that has been achieved.

It has been a great 10 years. However, after a lot of thought and soul searching over the past year, I have come to a decision. It is now time for me to hang up my long black coat, move on and leave Most Haunted as it’s presenter, in order to purse other projects. I hope that the Brand will continue for years to come as it will always be dear to me.

As well as continuing with ITV2′s “Ghosthunting with…” which grows from strength to strength and with some great celebrity guests coming up, it is much watch TV. I will be carrying on my quest to find paranormal activity on other channels taking investigations further than ever before and expanding on what I have already done.

I have felt for some time that I wanted to move Paranormal Investigations to the next level. This is in no small part to the 1000′s of letters and emails I get asking to go further and move forward. So in answer to you the fans of the Paranormal, that is what I am doing.

In leaving, I want to say a huge thanks to a great team of investigators that have turned the show into a household name. The tech crew who have been on the show and to Living for broadcasting the show over the past 10 years.

But my biggest thanks is to you the viewers. Most Haunted owes you a true debt of gratitude. I truly can’t thank you enough.

Carry on Ghost findings, as for me that’s not so much Goodbye as..See you on the other side!
